Pink Roses

If I paint them, they will come...I hope.  I've been painting flowers with the hope that we'll actually see some this spring!  It has been so cold and rainy that all our usual March flowers are no shows!  I did get some crocus blooms but they turned to mush before fully maturing.  Luckily, the sun is shining today, so there is hope!

Daffodils

Still life painting is something I struggle with, so I have been pushing myself to do more.  After numerous disasters, I finally painted one I'm happy with.  Happy Spring!

Off To Neverland

Every summer Olympia hosts a pet parade.  One year a family dressed up as characters from Peter Pan.  Of coarse, their golden retriever was Peter Pan himself!  This little guy caught my attention, though.  He was a spitting image of the youngest Darling family member.

Fowl Weather

This foul weather we've been having has put me in a "fowl" mood!

Zoey and Salty

I painted this for our daughter's birthday.  She wanted a painting of our dogs to take with her to college next fall.  The dogs were patiently waiting for my husband to throw the ball.  They were not about to take their eyes off that ball, though.

Man In the Mirror

This is a painting of my Uncle Rick.  The photo was taken a few years back in France at his daughter's wedding.  He has had a tough few months of very challenging health issues.  He and my aunt have been on my mind constantly so I thought it fitting to do this painting.

Three Broads Abroad

This painting is my 2nd entry for the Olympia Art League's 2017 juried art show.  I decided on this piece because it stretched my boundaries a bit and I love the depth portrayed in this scene. It will be available for purchase in April.

Pouty Face

I love seeing a dog's personality shine through on their face.    My dog, Salty, is an expert at the pouty face.  I haven't been able to photograph him making this face yet, so when I saw this photo on Pixabay, I knew I needed to paint it.  I also couldn't resist painting this boxer's "pooling" jowls!

Coastline

I've been working on a few different paintings to submit to our local juried art show.  This is my first one.  It will be for sale in late April.
