Retriever

acrylic on gessobord
One of my main focuses for this painting was the water.  I wanted to experiment and have a little fun.  So often I am cautious with my brush strokes and colors.  I tried to loosen up a little and step back. I was thinking I would get a little bolder with color, but alas, my instincts wouldn't let me do it.  I'll keep trying! I'm still happy with the outcome of this piece, though. I hope you enjoy it!

Daisy

acrylic on gessobord
Isn't this one of the cutest puppies you've ever seen?!!  I painted this for someone I met online in our daughter's college chat group.  She had posted a photo of her adorable puppy and I just HAD to paint her! Thankfully she said yes to me doing a painting of her furry girl, and even decided to buy it when I was done!!

Pacific City Cousins

8x8
acrylic on canvas
This is the last commission painting I did in 2019.  I actually did 2 of the exact same scene so my customer could give one to each of her kids for Christmas.

Sweet Dogs

Another commission painting I did in November. In all honesty, I can't remember the names of these adorable pups.   The day after I finished this, I got word that my dad had been admitted to the hospital in Phoenix.  I spent most of the second half of November with my dad as I watched his health decline. On the first of December, my dad left this world.  It's been hard trying to adjust to him being gone. I've been enjoying time with my amazing husband and kids and think I'm ready to get back in the studio.
Happy New Year!

This is one of a number of commission paintings I did in late 2019.  I had to wait to post them after Christmas, so I didn't ruin the surprise!
